What are you waiting for?
What are you waiting for? Life is full of what ifs. We are too scared to do things because we don’t know what the outcome will be. We all want to see our friends, family, and the rest of the world change their lives to have a relationship with God, but we don’t want to do anything to help change them.
This past Sunday at church a pastor named Jay Schribner filled in. He told us the story about a man named Larry Walters who wanted to fly so bad but could never get in the pilot seat. Larry took matters into his own hands and made himself fly with helium balloons. After the air force and navy saved him he was taken for questioning. When they asked him what he did that for he said, “You can’t just sit there.”
I am so glad that Jay was our guest this week and that he told us this story. We can’t just sit around and do nothing. It is up to us as Christians to save the world. We must go out into the world and evangelize. We may be the only way some people will ever know a thing about Christ. If we do nothing and jut sit back and think that we are going to heaven but we do nothing to save other people, how does that make us as Christians? We are here to do God’s work. We have made the decision to follow Christ, now it’s our job to spread the good news.
We all have people in our lives that we aren’t sure if they are going to heaven. If we love those people should we not know 100% sure that they have accepted Jesus Christ as their lord and savior and that they too will have eternal life in heaven.
Don’t just sit there. Go out and save people. Go out and do something. We need to open our arms to everyone who needs it. We need to pray for each other. We need to keep each other accountable for all these things. Most importantly we must do. Don’t wait until it is too late.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
